  1. About Us
  2. Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the Ewhurst School website from the Headteacher

It is an honour and a privilege for me to lead such a magnificent village school, which has existed in our community for over 175 years.   I am ably supported by a a wonderful staff team at the school, who are dedicated and committed in their pursuit of the school vision of 'flourishing together, rooted in God's love.'  Everyone flourishes here at Ewhurst, not just academically, but also socially, culturally, mentally and spiritually.  Inspired by this vision, we have made our mission clear: to create a safe, nurturing environment and equip pupils with the knowledge they need to prepare them for the next stage in their education.  We see the first three years of schooling as a crucial time to develop a genuine love for learning among the children.  It's a little like buttoning up a shirt: if you get the first button right, the rest follows effortlessly!  We love to see our pupils skipping into school every morning, hungry to learn, curious to explore and ready to embrace new challenges.

If you have not visited the school, please come and see for yourself!  We would be delighted to welcome you in person and would count it an honour if you decided to join our friendly parent community.   Our amazing office team can be reached on 01483 277291.

With best wishes,

Jonathan Walters

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

We are delighted to be the only dedicated Infant School in the area where all the children know and support each other, and are known by every member of staff.  We firmly believe that the first three years of a child's education shape his or her future, and that this should not be compromised. Every child has the opportunity to develop firm educational foundations for life.

Today Ewhurst Church of England Infant School is a nurturing, happy and calm environment in which children are encouraged to develop their emotional well-being, and achieve high academic success through a broad, creative and challenging curriculum in a Christian ethos. Outdoor learning opportunities are also freely accessible to the children along with our excellent Forest Schools programme.

We also offer full on site wrap-around day care from 7.45am- 6.00pm, which is very popular.

Ewhurst School is forward thinking and innovative, steadfast and confident in the Christian values for which it stands. We hope this website captures something of the spirit of the school, and we encourage you to visit on one of our Open Mornings so that you can see us in action and discover even more.

To visit our school in action, please make an appointment with the school office.
